Sustainability in Action: GoGreen Week with Swansea University
As part of Swansea University’s Go Green Week, Room 2 Grow Wales joined forces with students and visitors to create vibrant new green spaces in the heart of the city. The hands-on workshop invited participants to build and plant up wooden planters, transforming underutilised spaces into flourishing pockets of greenery.
Throughout the event, we engaged in conversations about the benefits of urban greening—discussing how small initiatives like planter installations can improve biodiversity, air quality, and mental well-being. The interactive nature of the workshop not only provided a practical learning experience but also inspired students and passersby to think about how they could contribute to making built-up areas more eco-friendly.
The enthusiasm and creativity on display highlighted the power of community-driven projects in creating a more sustainable urban environment. We look forward to continuing these discussions and encouraging more people to get involved in green initiatives across the city.
